Our Pets

Ellie is a 7 year old Border Collie mix rescued from a local elementary school (which is how she got her name) and is the most well behaved, easy going, even tempered dog you’ll ever meet.  She gets along with everyone and everything, nothing ruffles this dogs feathers.  Ellie competed in agility at one time acquiring her Open titles in AKC agility but retired early due to her hip dysplasia diagnosis.  This has not slowed her down and as of yet it does not affect her.  We work hard to keep her active (to build up the muscles to support the hips), slim and on her glucosamine and other supplements.  Ellie is the designated leader of the squirrel patrol.

Marley is our 13 year old Cocker Spaniel and has selective and non-selective hearing (she can hear the food hit the bowl but not anyone calling her).  She was adopted from the Hilton Head Humane Association where she had originally been stolen (thieves hopped over the fence) but amazingly we found her by some weird circumstance a month later.  After getting the police and entire neighborhood involved we decided she was meant to be ours.  Marley is the spoiled princess and my husband is her only true owner.  Her passion is to eat, eat, eat, eat and eat.  Fortunately she still keeps her girlish figure and looks great for being 13!

Penelope, Patra and Chili are our resident felines.  Penelope was adopted from the shelter when she was about 8 months and she is now 17 years old.  She is one of the sweetest cats ever (don’t know that we’ve ever heard her hiss), will let you do anything to her, likes to lay low and sleep a lot now.  Patra (formally Cleopatra) is now 13 years old and was also adopted from the shelter after living there for 3 years.  She has a spitfire personality and she will let you know that things have to be on her terms.  She and our youngest cat, Chili, love to play and wrestle.  Chili is about 3 years old and came from a local shelter (she was found in someone’s yard). We broke the color cycle with this one and went calico after being a family of black and white cats.  She really is Will’s kitten but knows that Windi is her mom. She likes to sleep in the bed with us. Although Billy is allergic to most cats he is fine with her.

Our dogs and cats get along great!
